Time to File to Run for Election for 2020 Races

It may or may not be hard to believe depending on how much politics you pay attention to, but 2020 is right around the corner and so to is the Illinois primary.  If you or someone you know is interested in running for office, that means it’s time to start gathering loved ones around you and decide what your platforms are, why you wanna run, and why you’re the right choice.  Once you’ve worked out those details, it’ll be time to start planning your campaign and the first step in that is getting constituents to sign your petition.  County Clerk Beth Sell has the dates you need to know:

“The first day to circulate petitions is September 3rd.  The first day of filing is November 25th and ends on December 2nd.”

You can visit the County Clerk’s office to pick up your petitions and ask any questions you may have.

Locally, County Board District 2, 3 and 4 incumbents will be up for re-election.
