David E. BriscoeNorris City, IL

   David E. Briscoe, 86, of Norris City passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion, IL. He was born August 9, 1940 in Flora, IL the son of James and Elizabeth Rita "Betty" (Uebinger) Briscoe. Shortly after David graduated from Flora High School he joined the United State Marine Corp serving till 1961 and achieving the rank of Corporal. On August 5, 1975, David married Nancy J. Joyce who preceded him in death on May 24, 2021. He had been the store manager at Jones in Ridgway and Kincaid's in Fairfield. David was a faithful member of Plainview General Baptist Church near Norris City and a member of the Norris City American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, working on small engines, but his greatest joy was his family and spending time with them.

     David is survived by his children, Lori (Henry) Gross of Omaha, Doug (Lisa) Broadway of Shelton, WA, Shanon (John) Zinzilieta of Benton, IL, Tonya (Brent) Pearce of Norris City and Scott and Shannon Briscoe; a sister, Sue (Bing) Lowe of Lockhart, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Tim Gholson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, children, Dale Wayne Broadway, Dion Patrick Broadway, Dale Allen Broadway and Allen Webb; and two brothers, Richard Cunningham and Jim Uebringer.

Funeral Services for David E. Briscoe, 86, of Norris City will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2026 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial with full military honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's memory to Plainview General Baptist Church or SIH Cancer Institute and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City or by mail to 609 W.
