Barbara Jean Henson, 70, of Crossville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana, with her family close by. She was born on Thursday, April 19, 1956, in Eldorado, Illinois, and raised in New Haven, Illinois, a daughter of Roy and Louise (Pyle) Clifford. On March 13, 1982, she married Dennis Ray Henson at First Baptist Church in Grayville, Illinois and together they shared over 44 years of marriage.
Barbara was retired, having worked as a cosmetologist for many years; she had also worked at the Phillipstown Christmas Tree Farm and Country Lawn and Garden in Crossville.
Barbara was a faithful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed watching wildlife and spending time with her pets. In her free time, Barbara loved working on craft projects, gardening and landscaping. She greatly enjoyed watching basketball and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls.
Along with her husband Dennis Henson of Crossville, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Candace Masterson of Carmi, and Tiffani (Levi) Fisk of Crossville; grandchildren, Andi Garner, Nolan Garner, Eva Masterson, Hannah (Kaleigh Miller) Clark, Cole Grimm and Derek Fisk; sisters, Patty Merritt, Janis (Mark) Abell and Mary (Paul) Ianniello; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Wynonia Henson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Greg Henson and Randy Merritt.
A gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life is being planned and details will be forthcoming.
