Carmi Police didn’t let a foot of snow get in the way of making arrests Monday. Just before a quarter after 11am, officers say they spotted 39-year-old William D. Wilson on his Sycamore Street porch while on routine patrol. The arresting officer says he knew Wilson to have an active White County warrant related to a January 5th charge of Threatening a Public Official. Wilson was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the White County Jail. He’ll remain behind bars until he’s seen by a judge.
Later in the day, just before 10pm, Carmi Police arrested 45-year-old Robert Veach at the intersection of Church and Robinson. Veach was wanted on a 2015 Failure to Appear warrant out of Edwards County. Following his arrest, Veach would post $75 bond, plus failure to appear and booking fees and he was released. He’ll be due in court in Albion on February 2nd at 9am.
