A Springerton man is behind bars following his arrest by White County Sheriff’s authorities Wednesday afternoon. An affidavit shows a deputy responded to an address there to serve an emergency order of protection and a warrant just after 2pm. On site, law enforcement served 49-year-old Joshua Dotson with the order of protection and also took him into custody on a failure to appear warrant related to a 2024 Domestic Violence case which resulted in a conviction for Domestic Battery. In March of this year, Dotson was sentenced to 2 years of conditional discharge, fined, and ordered into medical treatment. According to online court records, Dotson was in court in October and was ordered to be enrolled in counseling by his December 1st review. There was reportedly no proof of counseling and Dotson failed to appear for his Monday court date prompting the warrant.
Sheriff’s Deputies also arrested 43-year-old Nathan Saldana of Carmi Wednesday night just before 11pm. While on patrol, the deputy says he observed a silver Honda Accord swerve and cross the center line prompting a traffic stop. After performing field sobriety tests, Saldana was asked to submit to a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .097 BAC. After being arrested and taken to the jail, Saldana submitted to another test which resulted in a sample of .105. Saldana is facing charges of DUI of Alcohol, DUI with a BAC over .08, and a citation for Improper Lane Usage.
