A Carmi man violated his probation and will now go before a judge on November 24 at 9 am.
The White County Probation Office notified the White County Sheriff’s Department that Demerius Montgomery had violated his probation. A Sergeant arrived at the office, placed Montgomery under arrest, and escorted him to the White County Jail.
Montgomery’s probation is for a charge dated back to Halloween of 2024, a Possession of a Controlled Substance. Police initially arrested him on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine.
During his court appearance in 2024, a plea deal was reached, and the charge was reduced to Possession of a Controlled Substance. Montgomery was given two years’ probation, ordered into drug treatment, and given a 69-day jail sentence.
