Two Warrants Arrests on Two Individuals

Mugshot of Katelyn Garner
An inmate transfer was initiated on Wednesday morning between the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the White County Sheriff’s Department for a Fairfield inmate, Katelyn Garner.
Garner had a White County arrest warrant for a Failure to Appear on a Driving While License Suspended charge. Online court records show that she was released later in the day after her court appearance.
Mugshot of Maranda Travelstead
Back on May 1st, a White County Sheriff’s deputy observed a red 2015 Dodge Journey being driven by Maranda Travelstead. Dispatch advised that Travelstead had an active White County warrant.
The warrant stems from her arrest back in March for Meth Delivery, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Use of Property.
The officer conducted a traffic stop where he advised Travelstead of the warrant. While she was being placed under arrest, another officer noticed raw cannabis inside the vehicle. An individual was with Travelstead at the time and insisted that the cannabis was not his; it was ultimately shared that the contents belonged to Travelstead. Due to this, she was additionally charged with Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle by a Driver.
She appeared in court, where the State’s Attorney petitioned to deny her release. The Judge agreed, and she will be kept behind bars until her Preliminary hearing on June 1 at 10 am.
