Two individuals had to be life flighted to a regional hospital following a startling crash Tuesday. White County Sheriffs authorities say a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 38-year-old Daniel Carlisle, who fled.
While trying to stay in the area of Carlisle, deputies say the vehicle crossed 5th street onto Shipley and went airborne at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then came to a full stop after hitting a tree. In addition to Carlisle driving g without a valid license, law enforcement say the vehicle was found to also have unlawful display of registration, and officers found narcotics in the vehicle. The driver and a female passenger were flown due to injuries sustained.
White County Ambulance Director Adam Allen says both individuals suffered serious injuries, but they’re believed to be non-life threatening.
Carlisle most recently was arrested in June of this year on meth-related charges. He was out on pre-trial release shortly after the arrest and following multiple delays as well as Carlisle testing positive for the drug as recently as November, was due for a pre-trial hearing in January.
