The Carmi-White County Junior High Baseball team hosted Crab Orchard on Tuesday at Bradshaw Park, and the Bullpups came away with a 6-3 victory.
Carmi jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning thanks to sacrifice fly from Burrell McAlister, scoring Sam Lynn.
The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the 4th inning when Rowdy Hall singled to center field, scoring Merick Vaupel and extending CWC’s lead to 2-0.
The Bullpups then plated 4 runs in the 6th inning, courtesy of RBIs from McAlister, Vaupel, Hall, and Tyson May. CWC led 6-0 after 6 innings.
Crab Orchard scored 3 runs in the 7th inning, but their rally ended there, giving CWC a 6-3 win.
Jack Taylor earned his first career win on the mound. The 6th grader struck out 10 batters in 6 innings, allowing just one walk and one base hit.
The Bullpups improve to 2-4 on the season, they will travel to Mt. Carmel on Thursday.
