Shots Fired Saturday

A 911 call reported shots fired and a person screaming at a Carmi residence, prompting a response from the White County Sheriff’s Department.
While officers drove to the scene, dispatch informed them that multiple people had barricaded themselves away from Michael McIntyre.
On arrival, officers detained McIntyre after some resistance and began investigating.
According to the police report, one of the victims stated that the incident began with McIntyre being heavily intoxicated and calling her names. After this argument, McIntyre went into the trailer, retrieved a pistol, and fired rounds into the air. Because the situation escalated and did not calm down, she then called 911. This further agitated McIntyre, who responded by grabbing a shotgun and firing another round into the air.
Police found nine shells in the front yard. Officers learned that McIntyre did not own any of the firearms and did not have a FOID card.
McIntyre was arrested and charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and two counts of Resisting a Peace Officer.
