Around 10:30 pm on Wednesday, White County Dispatch received a report of gunshots fired at a residence located on East Johnson Street in Enfield.
Deputies from the White County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Carmi Police Department and Enfield Police Department, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers cleared the residence and the immediate area, but no suspects were located by police.
All individuals inside the residence were found to be uninjured. However, two bullet holes were discovered, one on the exterior wall and another on a vehicle located on the property.
Deputies notified the Illinois State Police Crime Lab, which responded to process the scene. The residents living in the home signed a complaint.
At this time, there are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing. We will continue to keep the community informed as the investigation progresses.
