Norris City Man and Two McLeansboro Men Arrested in Carmi Tuesday

41-year-old Justin Nelson of Norris City is out of jail with a notice to appear following his arrest Tuesday afternoon.  Carmi Police were called to Wal-Mart just before 4pm.  There, they arrested Nelson on a charge of Theft under $500.  He was released about a quarter after 5pm.  Nelson was also arrested in July and earlier this month.  The July charges include felony meth related charges and on August 2nd, Nelson was caught allegedly operating a vehicle without insurance.  He’s due in court for both of those instances on September 9th for a pre-trial hearing and first appearance, respectively.

 

Carmi Police also placed two McLeansboro men behind bars just before 8:30 Tuesday night.  An officer pulled over 70-year-old Curtis Patterson and 59-year-old John Armey of Pearl Street on Main Street near Express Lube.  Patterson is facing three felony counts including Possession of Meth, Unlawful Use of Property, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Patterson also has misdemeanor charges of Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia.  Additionally, he was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Armey meanwhile faces four felony charges including Possession of Meth, Unlawful Use of Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Obstructing Justice.  Misdemeanor charges filed include Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Both men remain behind bars as of Wednesday morning.
