McLeansboro Man Wanted Out of Three Counties

A McLeansboro man, wanted in three counties, was arrested Saturday afternoon by Carmi Police.
Officers noticed 45-year-old Arthur Barger at a residence on Sycamore Street and knew he was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant in White County for Theft less than $500, which occurred in 2025.
That wasn’t the only thing dispatch confirmed: Barger is also wanted out of Hamilton County for a 2023 charge of Aggravated Battery and a 2022 case in Wayne County, all for failure to appear.
Barger also collected another case in White County during his arrest on Saturday. Barger is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He has a Preliminary hearing for his new case on July 13 at 10 am.
