McLeansboro Man Prefers Jail; Gets Trip to Jail and Notice to Appear Instead

In the early morning hours Friday, a McLeansboro man was arrested in Norris City at the Locust Street Apartments.  It was just before 1am when officers responded to the area after dispatch advised a 30-year-old man was drunk and out of control.  The caller told authorities Justin Milner had tried to hit his and the caller’s mother and was now punching holes in the walls.  Upon arrival, officers did make contact with Milner who confirmed events and advised he’d rather go to jail as he had nowhere else to go.  Milner was arrested on a felony charge of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, taken to jail and then subsequently released with a Notice to Appear.  Online court records don’t show any evidence of Milner’s future court date as of Monday afternoon.
