A McLeansboro man is behind bars in White County facing a charge of Child Pornography and also two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. According to authorities with the McLeansboro PD, the department received information from San Juan County Sheriff’s officials of a criminal investigation they were conducting involving suspected criminal sexual abuse that occurred in multiple locations, some believed to have occurred in McLeansboro. That information was reviewed and local law enforcement began their own investigation which led to a search warrant and arrest warrant. On Friday late afternoon, McLeansboro Police arrested 26-year-old Jamikal Shakespeare of South Washington. On Monday, Shakespeare was in Hamilton County court for a pre-trial detention hearing where the court ruled he remain detained for trail. The McLeansboro Police Chief says the investigation is still in it’s early stages and more charges are possible as more information is discovered and reviewed by the Hamilton County State’s Attorney.
