In what appears to be a sharp reversal from last week’s ruling, the McLeansboro City Council has called a special meeting for tomorrow afternoon. Last week, council voted down 4 – 2 an amendment to a chapter of city code that would allow a special use permit to holders of liquor licenses in certain zoned areas of the city. This discussion and potential action is expected in response to Adam Little’s hope to obtain a special liquor permit for a music event he’s planned for next month near his business, Deep South. The Cherry Street Music Festival is planned for September 22nd. Despite Little going out of his way to obtain agreement from locals, council members still shot down the proposal.
