The Carmi-White County Softball team picked up their first win of the season yesterday, defeating Lawrenceville by a final score of 9-5.
Addi Elliott, Torrie Rider, Caroline Simmons, Eva Attebury, and Aerielle McWhirter all picked up base hits in the win.
Lindsay Simmons earned the victory in the circle, giving up just one earned run on three hits while striking out seven.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 1-2 on the year, they’ll be back in action at home today as they host Carterville at Archie Brown Field.
The Carmi-White County Baseball team fell to West Frankfort on the road yesterday by a final score of 16-0.
Merick Millhorn and Eli Mosier collected the lone base hits for the Bulldogs in the loss.
Carmi falls to 0-4 on the year. They will host Hardin County this afternoon at Eckerle Park. Fans can watch and listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.
