The Carmi-White County Wrestling team traveled to Johnston City last night, and the Bulldogs came away with a pair of wins.
Carmi defeated Sparta 54-21, they then beat Johnston City 54-30.
Kenny Clark, Connor Benham, Caleb King, Cole Evans, Branson Burnett, Laeden Vargas, and Jazz Duckworth all picked up wins by pin on the night.
Gage Anderson, Nolan Garner, Cameron Winter, and Dylan Combs picked up forfeit wins.
The Bulldog Wrestlers will have the rest of the week off, they will travel to Breese Central next Tuesday.
The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team will travel to Edwards County tonight for a battle for first place in the Black Diamond Conference.
Carmi comes in with an 11-2 record and 4-0 record in the BDC. Edwards County is 12-5 with a 3-0 BDC record. The winner of tonight’s game will have sole possession of 1st Place in the conference standings.
Fans can watch and listen to tonight’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. Varsity will tip-off around 7:30 PM.
The Lady Bulldogs will then be back in action on Saturday as they host Harrisburg for their first home game of the new year.
The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will travel to Eldorado tomorrow for a Black Diamond Conference matchup. The Bulldogs enter tomorrow’s contest with a 1-10 record after going 0-2 in the Eldorado Holiday Tournament at the end of December.
Southeastern Illinois College will be hosting Carmi-White County Night on Monday as the SIC Men’s Basketball team takes on Missouri Baptist. CWCHS students will receive free admission, and Carmi fans are encouraged to wear maroon and white and cheer on former CWC Bulldog Mitchel Edwards and the Falcons.
