The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team fell to Olney last night in the IHSA 2A Eldorado Regional Championship by a final score of 50-42. 

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 14-9 at the end of the 1st quarter and 18-11 at halftime, but Carmi would outscore Olney 20-8 in the 3rd quarter to take a 31-26 lead into the 4th quarter. Olney would storm back to tie it at 38-38 before hitting a three-pointer to go ahead 41-38 and they never looked back, hitting their free throws down the stretch. 

The Lady Bulldogs end the season with a 19-11 record, and the careers of seniors Caroline Simmons, Jaya Smith, Addi Elliott, Natalie Goemaat and Torrie Rider come to an end.

Congratulations to coach Eric Dixon and the Lady Bulldogs on a great season.

The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will wrap up their regular season tonight as they travel to Fairfield for the Black Diamond Conference finale. 

The Bulldogs come into tonight’s game with a 2-22 record and 1-8 record in the BDC. 

Fairfield is 18-11 on the season and they have already clinched the BDC East title with an 8-1 conference record. 

Fans can watch and listen to tonight’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. Varsity will tip-off around 7:30 PM.

The Bulldogs will then begin postseason play on Monday when they travel to Massac County for the IHSA Regional Quarterfinals. If the Bulldogs win on Monday, they will advance to the semifinals and will face Anna-Jonesboro next Wednesday at Massac.
