Local Law Enforcement Agencies Execute Federal Arrest Warrants

Carmi Police along with White County Sheriff’s authorities and the Norris City Police Department executed 3 federal arrest warrants they obtained while working drug cases in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration.  On Friday, November 7th, officers served 36-year-old Charles Abner of Indiana while he was already in custody at the White County Jail on multiple drug charges.  34-year-old Josha Hall of Carmi and 66-year-old Joseph Weccele were arrested and transported to the White County Jail.  Abner remains in the White County facility while Hall and Weccele have been transferred to another location by U.S. Marshalls.  Police Chief Jason Carter says local law enforcement agencies are continuing to work drug cases in cooperation with DEA Agents to ensure successful detainment and prosecution.
