A Grayville man is not in custody despite heinous animal cruelty charges, missing a court date, and being involved in a wreck after he allegedly stole a truck. Back in August, police charged 42-year-old Tyrel Linder with six counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

Linder remained in custody at least through September 8th though details aren’t clear as to exactly when or why he was released, but his jury pre-trial was set to begin Monday, December 8th. On the morning of the 8th, online court records show that pre-trial was pushed back to December 10th. At 8:30am Monday, Grayville Police were dispatched to a home at 206 North 3rd Street in reference to a stolen truck. Witnesses would later confirm it was Linder who had taken the vehicle and it was spotted at Dollar General before being involved in a crash south of town on Route 1. Crossville Police, Grayville Police and White County Sheriff’s authorities all responded to the scene. It’s unclear where Linder is now. He was released before formal charges could be filed due to medical reasons. Linder we’re told would subsequently jump out of the ambulance at a stop sign and hasn’t been seen since.
