
Carmi Police had a busy weekend, with their first arrest at noon on Friday.
Officers pulled over a black Jeep after observing the driver not wearing a seatbelt. According to the police report, the officer noticed a strong odor of raw cannabis emitting from the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search.
During the search, cannabis was located and field tested positive. The driver, 35-year-old Kristie French, was placed under arrest for Possession of Cannabis in a motor vehicle by a driver and was taken to the White County Jail, where she was later released with a Notice to Appear.

Later that night, Crossville resident John Peterson was arrested during a traffic stop for Possession of Cannabis in a motor vehicle by a driver. Peterson was also issued a warning for a headlight violation. He was issued a Notice to Appear for June 9 at 9 am and was later released from the White County Jail.

On Saturday afternoon, after four signed complaints for Disorderly Conduct, Charles Baxter was arrested and transported to the White County Jail, but was later released with a citation.
It didn’t take long for Baxter to get in trouble again, though. Just two hours later, Baxter was arrested again for Disorderly Conduct and Stalking. He was taken back to the Jail where he will remain until he can see a judge.

Rosiclaire native Timothy Bebout was arrested on several charges Saturday.
Bebout is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Use of Property, Possession of Cannabis in a motor vehicle by a driver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, False/Secret Compartment in a motor vehicle, and Driving on a Suspended License.
He was also cited for Operation of an Uninsured motor vehicle, No Rear Registration Lights on a vehicle, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by a driver.
Bebout has been in jail since his arrest, and until he can go before a judge.

Last up in the weekend arrests by Carmi Police, Jacob Blazier, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle by a Driver.
He was also cited for Operating an Uninsured motor vehicle on Saturday.
