The state fire marshal’s office is on site, a far north Carmi home is gutted, and at least three individuals are being treated for various injuries following a Thursday morning fire. First responders were called to 801 South Summit Street just after 6am. When firefighters arrived, ambulance personnel were already on scene. Chief Daniel Ballard says all 6 occupants were already out of the single story home and some were being treated. White County Ambulance Director Adam Allen says two teens weren’t injured and an adult male refused medical treatment. Two adult females were life flighted to a St. Louis hospital for what Allen called serious injuries sustained in the fire. A 34-year-old female was taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital. Fire fighters left the scene at about a quarter after 9am.
