Eldorado Man Arrested After Intense Search

Around 1 pm on Friday, a Deputy from the White County Sheriff’s Department received credible information that indicated that two firearms that had previously been reported stolen back in September in White County had been traded for narcotics at a residence in Eldorado, Illinois.

The narcotics that were traded from the firearms were then brought back to White County for suspected distribution.

The Deputy was granted a search warrant for a residence on Highland Street in Eldorado. White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss immediately contacted the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and the Eldorado Police Department, which both responded to the residence to assist in the search operation.

John N. Williams was observed leaving the residence after exiting a building on the property. All law enforcement officials detained and advised Williams of the search warrant. The search resulted in a significant seizure: two stolen firearms that were initially reported stolen in White County, one firearm that was reported stolen from Saline County, and a staggering 42 additional firearms, including a suppressed pistol and a modified rifle to operate as a fully automatic firearm. The findings didn’t end there; officers also found a substantial 3.8 pounds of suspected crystal Methamphetamine and numerous rounds of ammunition.

John N. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Saline County Jail.
Sheriff Weiss expressed his thanks to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, the Norris City Police Department, and the Eldorado Police Department for their diligent assistance and cooperation in the operation.
The investigation is still active until all individuals involved are identified and held accountable.
