Friday morning 6/5/26 update at 7:30am

White County Coroner Chris Marsh is on his way to the state capital this morning for an autopsy on a dead man found inside an SUV at Road Ranger in Grayville Thursday.  All we know at this point is the vehicle was an Avis rental and store security shows it pulling into the parking lot on May 24th.  Marsh did confirm he found ID in the vehicle and that it matches the information given to the rental company, but he’s not able to release the identity at this time.  Crime scene investigators were called in due to items and evidence found inside the vehicle.  Grayville Police, the White County Sheriff’s Department, and Illinois State CSI assisted at the scene.
