Consumers Gas Customers Coming Back Online After Service Line Break

Customers who found themselves without natural gas Monday evening should be back to normal today.  Kevin Bratcher, Supervisor with Consumers Gas in Carmi says about 47 structures, limited to east Carmi, were affected through this morning.  He says the gas line that crosses the river broke somewhere in a weld which caused the shut down.  Service was restored at around 9pm last night and crews have been working this morning to get customers back up and pilots lit.  He says officials will continue to try to diagnose the issue and make a permanent repair where the line broke along the river.
