The City of Grayville will hold two meetings Monday. The first, a morning session at 8am, will serve as an opportunity for the council to officially meet in executive session. Following that, the council is expected to approve evaluation wage increases before adjourning for the morning.
Nearly 12 hours later, the regular City Council meeting will get underway at 7. New Mayor Travis Thompson will be sworn in as will new council members replacing Josh Downs, Bob Stroud, and Andy Brock. New business for the new council will include organization of the council with committee and other appointments. Resident Danny Bowland is also on the agenda. He’s expected to ask council for permission to block North Middle Street at the downtown Pavilion for a June 22nd Model Car Show. Beyond that, council will consider Tourism Bureau participation; they’re expected to award this year’s concession lease and will discuss the city’s mosquito fogger.
The meeting gets underway at 7pm. WROY/WRUL News will have it covered for you. Look for a report Tuesday morning.
