Carmi-White County Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, Clinton Wolff, made the announcement Friday morning that the Bulldogs will not be able to play their Week 1 season opener against Johnston City at home due to the field conditions at Harrington-Jeffires Stadium.
Here is the statement from Coach Wolff:
“The Carmi-White County High School Athletic Department has announced a change in venue for the upcoming varsity football game between Carmi-White County High School (CWCHS) and Johnston City High School, originally scheduled to be played at CWCHS on Friday, August 29th.
Due to current field conditions at CWCHS, the game will now be hosted at Johnston City High School. The varsity game will kick off at 7:00 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team on the road. Further updates regarding the football schedule will be communicated through the CWCHS website and official social media channels.
The Bulldogs will look to host their home opener on Friday, September 12th vs Hamilton County. This will also be the Bulldogs Blackout Cancer game. T-Shirts are still available to order. Please contact the high school office with any questions.
