
A Carmi woman is behind bars following a traffic stop Friday afternoon on Fairgrounds Road. Carmi Police pulled over 48-year-old Aftan Rumsey just before 4:30pm and she was subsequently placed under arrest on a Saline County warrant for Failure to Appear. Additionally, she’s been charged in White County with Driving while License Revoked. Rumsey is to be transferred to Saline County.
Carmi Police arrested 53-year-old Clayton Coaliron of Carrier Mills late Friday night at the

intersection of Oak and Lexington. It was just before 11pm when an officer pulled over the Saline
County man and placed him under arrest on charges of Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. He was also cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by Passenger. He was booked and released with a Notice to Appear just after midnight.
On Thursday afternoon, Carmi Police arrested 71-year-old Suzanne Pretzsch. She was stopped just before 6pm on Stewart near Pundrakes and placed under arrest on a White County warrant related to a felony Aggravated Battery charge. Sunday evening, Carmi Police pulled over 34-year-old Britini Grimes of Norris City for driving with a headlight out. It was just before 8pm on Main at Staley. Grimes would be placed in cuffs after police say they found her in possession of Meth. She was arrested on that charge, plus a count of Unlawful Use of Property, and additionally a citation for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Grimes’ vehicle was towed by S&E Auto and she remained behind bars as of Monday morning.
