25 year old Nathan A Johnson of Carmi was arrested on Saturday afternoon by the Carmi Police Department. Johnson was wanted on a White County Warrant and was observed walking on Seventh Street when he was taken into custody at 1:41pm. Johnson is being held at the White County Jail pending the post of a $150 bond.
On Saturday afternoon, Alyse Jensik of Carmi reported to City Police that someone had keyed her car while parked in the Walmart parking lot. The damage was reported at 2:02pm.
Sunday afternoon, Arthur Norem of Groverton Indiana reported to Carmi Police that while travelling through Carmi on Friday, someone stole a blue duffle bag from his pickup. Norem reported the bag contained clothes, an iPad, and a checkbook. Norem reported he made two stops while in town and thought that the theft could have occurred then.
Sunday evening, Carmi Police arrested 31 year old Timothy McWhirter for violating an order of protection. Officers found McWhirter in a yard at 403 Seventh Street just after 6:30pm after receiving a call that he had been yelling at the occupant of a residence on Stewart Street. McWhirter was transported to the White County Jail and is being held without bail pending a court hearing.
