Carmi Police Arrest Four Over the Weekend

Carmi Police arrested two individuals Friday afternoon and two more over the weekend.

Up first was 39-year-old Jason Ballard. A little before 1 pm on Friday, Carmi Police conducted a traffic stop on Ballard for no registration on his silver Durango. Not only did Ballard not have registration, but officers knew that he had a revoked driver’s license.

Police arrested Ballard for Driving While License Revoked, Reckless Driving, No Valid Registration, and No Insurance, and he was transported to the White County Jail. His parole was revoked, with a parole warrant activated. He has a Preliminary Hearing set for August 8 at 10 am.

Around 4:30 pm, a male individual driving a lawnmower in Carmi was pulled over by the Carmi Police. Steven Forrester, whom police knew had a revoked driver’s license, told police he was driving the lawnmower as a form of transportation around town. Police told Forrester that he would need a license to use the mower as transportation. Eventually, Forrester was arrested and taken to the White County Jail, where he was later released on a Notice to Appear for Driving While License Revoked and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.

In the late hours of Saturday night, Albion resident Earl Reid was arrested by Carmi Police for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Reid appeared in court on Monday morning and was given a First Appearance date by the judge for August 26 at 9:00 am.

The last individual arrested over the weekend by Carmi Police was 29-year-old Dustin Myers.

Myers was booked in jail and released with no additional charges on a White County Arrest Warrant. The warrant dates back to June 20 of this year for charges that include Theft, Aggravated Identity Theft, Theft under $500, and Unlawful Possession of a Credit/Debit Card.
