Carmi Police began searching five separate homes on search warrants Friday morning just before 5:30am. Chief Jason Carters says the search warrants were obtained following an extensive drug investigation at various homes in Carmi. While nine arrests were made, the Carmi Police Chief says unfortunately, several children were also present in some of the residences where he says officers found illegal drugs and paraphernalia. As a result, some received additional charges with regards to children on site. The Carmi Police Department received assistance by the White County Sheriff’s Department.
