A Carmi man is facing a list of charges after making violent threats against several people and fighting Carmi police officers on Wednesday.
39 year old Jason C Williams is currently housed in the White County Jail without bail awaiting a court hearing. Williams was taken into custody at 10:57am by Carmi officers at his residence on Shipley Street after a warrant was issued for his arrest following several complaints from individuals who he had threatened. As officers arrived at the scene, Williams was outside yelling and cursing at police, stating that he was not going to jail.
Williams physically resisted arrest, but was subdued and transported to the Jail. He has been charged with a hate crime, aggravated battery, disorderly conduct, assault, and resisting a peace officer.
At 3:58pm Wednesday, Carmi officers took a report from Jerry Woodrow about a pressure washer that was stolen from his 5th Street residence.
Carmi officers arrested 35 year old Angel Boren at her Fourth Street residence on Wednesday on a White County warrant for obstructing justice. Boren was taken into custody at 5:50pm and transported to the White County Jail, where she is being held on $1500 bond.
