Carmi Chamber of Commerce “It’s A White County Christmas” Festivities Continue This Weekend

The Christmas Lights of Hope at the White County Fairgrounds will continue this weekend. Christmas Lights of Hope is a drive through display with over 90 light-up displays. It’s made possible because of sponsorships from local business. A $5 suggested donation will allow guests to go through the displays with all proceeds being used to provide weekend meals for local school children. Christmas Lights of Hope will run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until December 20th. It will run the full week from December 20th – 28th. Make sure to follow the Christmas Lights of Hope Facebook page.

The Carmi Lions Club will have a Free Breakfast with Santa from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Lion’s Den. There will also be a Vendor Fair from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Carmi Fairgrounds Floral Hall.

Sunday, December 15th, The Carmi League of Arts in conjunction with the Carmi Ministerial Association will present “Christmas in Harmony,” a worship concert choir, celebrating the true meaning of the Christmas season. Directed by Tracy Orr, the concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Carmi-White County High School Auditorium.

And while not an official part of “It’s A White County Christmas”, Lance Yearby, President of the Carmi Christmas Elves encourages everyone to stop by and see the Bryant’s huge Christmas Display, a family tradition for many years, one of the largest displays in the tri-state, located on Bohleber Drive and the musically synced light display at the Yearby residence on Ableson Drive. Tune your radios to 102.7 FM and enjoy the music while watching the light display. Yearby says “Make Carmi, IL a definite stop for this year’s Christmas activities. This is one festive town you don’t want to miss!”
