Carmi CDJR Working to Bring New Technology; Bigger Selection to Region

The new owner at what was Jansen in Carmi is excited to bring a revamped, more efficient experience to customers.  He’s not ready, however, to tell people everything.  Work continues as staff and fresh leadership prepares the dealership for its relaunch as Carmi CDJR.  The CDJR stands for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram though the new purveyor says there will be an expanded selection including a variety of pre-owned vehicles across the landscape of makes and models.
WROY/WRUL News got a chance to spend about 15 minutes with Denton Weiss, General Manager, along with a pair of individuals new to the dealership.  The crew is hammering out a structure that has proved successful at their other dealerships.  That includes a significant increase in the number of cars on the lot coming soon and also an overhauled service experience.  Among the changes expected are more selection than Weiss says the lot has had in more than 30 years.  Leaders say you can expect around 100 units on the lot in the coming weeks and 150 within around 6 months.  Beyond that, consumers will be able to book service appointments and pay online or through their phones if they choose.  The new Carmi CDJR will also honor the previous ownership’s warranties.
Though new, fresh ownership says the community has been welcoming although they themselves to this point have been too busy to get out and do a ton of mingling.  Mayor Bill Stendeback and Scott Rice from Carmi’s only other dealership both came out to introduce themselves and wish the new dealership the best.  It’s that kind of hospitality that attracted the new owner, who says he loves small and mid-size markets.  He says in bigger cities, everybody and every vehicle is a number while in smaller communities; he’s found staff get a chance to better build relationships with people and the community as a whole.
The new website is up and running.  You can find more at www.carmicdjr.com; they’re active on Facebook, and a new Instagram profile is coming soon.
