Bulldogs fall to Herrin
Herrin held Carmi White County to two runs Wednesday afternoon in the next to the last game of the season for the “Dawgs”, who lost 4 to 2.
Carmi scored the two runs in the fourth inning as Mahon and York were able to get across the plate.
Mahon and Mendenhall shared the pitching duties for Carmi White County.
Herrin scored two runs in the first inning and then added two more in the second, but the Bulldogs held Herrin scoreless the rest of the game.
The Dogs will be back in action Friday as they play Crab Orchard for the last game of the regular season.
The locals will begin regional play on Monday against Edwards County. That game will be broadcast on WRUL 97.3 FM. Jason Craig and Chris Lucas will cover the game which starts around 4:30. The broadcast will begin around 4:15 or 4:20.
If the Bulldogs win on Monday, they will face Fairfield at 6:30 Wednesday, May 15, with that game to broadcast on WRUL 97.3 FM
The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play Mt. Vernon Wednesday. But as it has been all year, no score or any information has been provided to WROY/WRUL Sports by the girls softball coach.
The ladies are scheduled to play Flora today, which is the last regular season game for the Lady Bulldogs. They will start regional play on Monday against Fairfield. If the ladies win Monday they would face Edwards County at 4:30 Tuesday. That game, if played, will be broadcast on WRUL 97.3 FM. Craig and Lucas will cover that action as well.
