Back on the Bench; Dixon Returns as Lady Bulldogs Head Coach

When Eric Dixon resigned as CWC Girls Basketball Head Coach in 2010, he sat just 65 wins behind his dad, Don Dixon, for the most wins by a girls basketball coach in CWCHS history.

14 years later, Eric Dixon is back to once again chase his father’s record.

At Monday’s Carmi-White County USD 5 Meeting, the board approved Dixon to be the new head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, a position he held from 2001-2010.

Before becoming the Girls Varsity Head Coach in 2001, Dixon coached the CWC Jr. High Lady Bullpups to an SIJHSAA Class L State Championship in 1997.

In Dixon’s 9 seasons as Varsity Head Coach, he compiled a 186-84 (.689) record which featured 5 regional championships and 3 Black Diamond Conference titles.

Dixon became the CWC Boys Basketball Head Coach in 2011, and in 4 seasons he went a combined 55-55.

Dixon has since spent the winter months coaching at the Jr. High level, and watching his son Trey play for the Bulldogs.

Dixon takes over a Lady Bulldogs team who is coming off a 26-win season that ended in a tight regional championship loss to the eventual 3rd Place in State finishing Robinson Lady Maroons.
