Area Farmers Harvesting
While corn harvest was already underway in White County, a number of local farmers have kicked “it” into high gear to beat rising flood waters.
Local farmers with fields along the Wabash, Little Wabash and Skillet Fork were working late into the night Monday in an effort to harvest fields threatened by flood waters caused by the weekend’s heavy rains.
Local motorists are reminded to use caution around the fields, as there will be trucks coming and going. Drivers should also be mindful of farm equipment, some which is actually wider than single lanes of roadway. Drivers are asked to be patient as harvest continues and local farmers work to “git er done.”
