The Hamilton, Wayne, White County Relay For Life presented the “Kathy Smith Volunteer Award” to Cindy Anselment at their 2026 Relay Event Celebration. The award was created in 2015 by the Relay Leadership Team in memory of the late Kathy Smith. It is presented each year to someone who exemplifies what Kathy lived on a daily basis…dedication, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to Relay.
Cindy has been involved in Relay For Life for many years. During that time, she has served as Event Chair, Luminaria Chair, Accounting Chair, and a member of Team Reyling.
As Luminaria Chair, she has spent countless hours organizing, checking, and double-checking details to ensure that every name is honored for the Luminaria Ceremony. One of the paragraphs in her nomination reads, “Whether leading a committee, supporting a team, or taking on Accounting and Luminaria roles, her commitment and service has made a lasting impact on our Relay For Life family.”
