Sept. 9, 7 a.m. – SIC’s 13-week Rise & Align morning yoga class begins in Room B126W on the Harrisburg campus. The class is open to SIC students, employees and community members and meets from 7–7:50 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 2. The cost is $40. Sept. 12, 8 a.m. – SIC will offer Light & Fight, a free, hands-on essential skills training class for current firefighters, at the Chuck Hearn Outdoor Education Complex. Sept. 14, 8:30 a.m. – The Commemorate Regional Artists Exhibition opens at the Ella Elizabeth Hise Museum of Regional Art at SIC. Celebrating the museum’s seventh anniversary, the free exhibition features artwork by regional artists and will remain on display through Dec. 4. Sept. 22, 9–11 a.m. – The Illinois Department of Central Management Services and Illinois Department of Employment Security will offer a free State of Illinois application process workshop at SIC’s Stanford D. Williams Career & Training Center, 1700 College Ave. in Carmi. Participants can learn about careers in corrections, public safety, healthcare, human services, business development and more. Sept. 22, 3 p.m. – The Illinois Small Business Development Center at SIC will offer Introduction to Canva, a free training session in Room G120. Sept. 24, 10 a.m.–noon – A Southeast Missouri State University representative will be available in the A/B Lobby at SIC to meet with students interested in transferring to SEMO. Students can learn about programs, admissions, scholarships and more.

Sept. 24, 10 a.m.–noon – SIC Director of Network Security Will Armijo will lead Cybersecurity 101, a free class in Room G120 at SIC. Participants will learn about common security risks, safe online practices and ways to protect personal and workplace information. Sept. 26, 8 a.m.–1 p.m. – SIC will begin a free two-day OSHA 10 Certification course for general industry in Room G113 on the Harrisburg campus. Sept. 26 – SIC Men’s Basketball will host two camps at Deaton Gym. A Skills Camp for boys and girls in grades 3–8 will run from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., followed by an Elite Camp for high school boys from 1:30–5:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per camp and includes a T-shirt. To register, email [email protected].
