The Carmi-White County Football team fell to Fairfield back on Friday by a final score of 20-14.
The Bulldogs took an 8-0 lead on their opening drive of the game thanks to a 3-yard touchdown run by Cooper Hill. Carmi would hold that lead until the final minutes of the 4th quarter when Fairfield took a 14-8 lead.
Carmi marched down to tie the game on a 20-yard touchdown run by Jazz Duckworth with just 50 seconds remaining, and it looked like the game was heading to overtime.
Two costly Carmi penalties helped the Mules get all the way to the Carmi 16-yard line, and on 4th down Fairfield would score the game winning touchdown with just 8 seconds left.
The Bulldogs fall to 1-4 on the year as the Mules improve to 5-0. Carmi will travel to Sesser-Valier this Friday.

The Carmi-White County Jr. Pro Football teams hosted Sesser-Valier on Saturday, and both teams picked up wins.
The 5th & 6th Grade Bulldogs won 14-0.
The 7th & 8th Grade Bulldogs won 32-0.
Jr. Pro will wrap up the regular season this Saturday at Fairfield.
The Carmi-White County Boys & Girls Golf teams will travel to Flora today.
The Carmi-White County Girls Tennis team will host Newton today.
The Carmi-White County JV Football team will travel to Fairfield tonight.
