The Carmi Chamber of Commerce will gather for it’s 82nd Annual Dinner and awards on Monday, October 5th. It’s the unofficial kick-off to Corn Day festivities and offers a chance for Carmi’s business community to come together, get an update on happenings, and recognize a Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, and Young Professional of the Year.
The Citizen of the Year has been presented without fail since 1957. This year’s award winner will be the 70th and aims to recognize an individual whose community spirit, service, and dedication has helped make the community a better place. The Business of the Year award honors a Chamber member business that has made significant contributions to the community. The Young Professional award recognizes an individual 40 years of age or under who has demonstrated professional excellence, initiative, creativity, community involvement, and leadership while serving as a positive role model.
