Following the City Council meeting Tuesday night (7/7/26), we sit down with Mayor Bill Stendeback and the only topic is the opening of the bid from Illinois American Water to potentially purchase the city’s wastewater treatment plant. While the whole thing looks incredibly doubtful, we break down the meeting, what led to it, the purpose of accepting bids, and the way forward.
