An Enfield man remains behind bars as of Monday morning following his arrest Friday. Carmi Police pulled over 50-year-old John Julian just inside city limits near the Ferrell Hospital Carmi clinic at 1:09am. They say Julian was wanted on a St. Clair County warrant that dates back to last year on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlaw Possession of the drug with Intent to Deliver. Julian was booked just after 2am and remains in the White County Jail as of 8am Monday morning.
A Crossville man is out on pre-trial release following his arrest Sunday night in Carmi. Police say they arrested 66-year-old John Peterson at about 9:40pm at Hucks. Peterson was arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and also cited for an Operating a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration due to Mandatory Insurance violation. Peterson’s vehicle was towed by Cherry Street Automotive and he was released just before 11:30pm with a notice to appear in White County court on August 11th.
