60-year-old James Greer with multiple addresses listed in competing documents including Powderly, Kentucky as well as Central City, Kentucky, and locally Norris City is free following his arrest Wednesday morning. Greer was due in court Wednesday at around 10am. He was busy being arrested according to a new report from Carmi PD during that time. Just before 8:30am, Greer was arrested on Oak at 5th Street on charges of Driving while License Suspended and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Court records show he was due in court at 10am Wednesday for a preliminary hearing originating from a late March arrest which earned him six charges including three felony counts, two of them involving meth, one a possession charge and the other an illegal use of property charge with relation to the drug. Greer was released with a notice to appear just before 11am.
