Four Arrested During Two Traffic Stops in Carmi

A 41-year-old woman of Springerton was arrested and later released during a traffic stop a little before 8:30 pm on Tuesday.
Mary Nelson was pulled over by Carmi Police for driving while license suspended. She was given a court appearance for July 7 at 9 am.

An hour and a half later, Carmi Police conducted another traffic stop on a minivan at Main and Marshall Street.
Three Enfield residents were arrested on a slew of charges.
A passenger with a White County warrant for a 2024 DUI case is facing new charges from this incident. Alicia Pearce was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful use of property.
The driver, 47-year-old Wesley Carter, is facing charges of driving while license revoked, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful use of property, suspended registration, and cited for no insurance.
Another passenger, Olivia Miller, was arrested and later released for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle.
Carter and Pearce were later released after they appeared before a judge on Wednesday on Pre-Trial conditions. They will have their Preliminary hearing on July 7 at 1 pm.
