The Carmi-White County Baseball team fell to Herrin yesterday at home by a final score of 11-9.
The Bulldogs trailed 8-1 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, but they were able to plate 6 runs to make it a 8-7 game going into the final inning. Herrin extended their lead to 11-7 on a two-strike two-out bases clearing triple. Carmi scored 2 in the 7th, but their comeback effort would come up short.
The Bulldogs fall to 5-19 on the season. They will travel to Crab Orchard this afternoon.
The IHSA released the baseball postseason brackets yesterday. The Bulldogs are the 10-seed in Sub-Sectional A of the Benton Sectional. Carmi will travel to Zeigler-Royalton for the Regional Quarterfinals on Memorial Day. The winner will face Fairfield in the Mt. Carmel Regional Semifinals.
The Carmi-White County Softball team traveled to Olney yesterday, and the Lady Bulldogs fell by a final score of 6-1. Carmi falls to 8-19 on the season, they will wrap up the regular season this afternoon as they host Hamilton County at Archie Brown Field.

The Lady Bulldogs will begin regional play on Monday as they travel to Benton for the IHSA Regional Quarterfinals. The winner will face Mt. Carmel in Carmi for the Regional Semifinals.
The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team traveled to Mt. Vernon yesterday for a tri-match against Mt. Vernon and Greenville. The Bulldogs defeated Mt. Vernon by a final score of 4-0 before defeating Greenville (coached by head coach Chris Courty’s son, Sean Courty) 3-1.
The Bulldogs improve to 8-3 on the year, they will travel to Salem today.
