WROY/WRUL Local Sports Recap

The Carmi-White County Softball team fell to Fairfield on the road yesterday by a final score of 7-4. 

Addi Elliott, Addie Courson, Eva Attebury, Bri Hale, and Maggie Pearce all recorded base hits in the loss. 

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 6-16 on the season. They will host West Frankfort today at Archie Brown Field for Senior Day. Carmi will recognize their three seniors prior to first pitch, Caroline Simmons, Addi Elliott, and Torrie Rider. 

Fans can watch and listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM. 

The Carmi-White County Baseball team was supposed to play at Fairfield yesterday but that game was postponed due to wet field conditions. The Bulldogs will travel to Mt. Carmel this afternoon before hosting Fairfield at home tomorrow. Yesterday’s scheduled game at Fairfield will now be played on Saturday.

The Carmi-White County Girls Track team traveled to DuQuoin yesterday for the Lady Indian Classic, we’ll have the full results from that meet on WRUL.com when they become available. 

The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team traveled to Mt. Carmel yesterday, and the Bulldogs came away with an 8-1 victory. 

Madden Anderson, Reece Whitley, Rylee Dodgson, Ian Goemaat, and Kyson Clark all won their singles matches. The doubles teams of Anderson & Javan Lucas, Whitley & Goemaat, and Dodgson & Clark all won their doubles matches. 

The Bulldogs will have today off, they will host Newton at Bradshaw Park tomorrow. 

The Carmi-White County Boys Track team will welcome 10 schools to Harrington-Jeffires Stadium this afternoon for the CWC Invite.
