The Carmi-White County Baseball team picked up their first win of the season back on Friday, defeating Gallatin County by a final score of 13-2.
Merick Millhorn picked up the win on the mound, allowing just two runs on five hits with nine strikeouts.
Millhorn, Hayden Sauls, Maxon O’Daniel, Colton Marvin, Jaxon Bradshaw, and Myles Barnett all picked up base hits in the win.
The Bulldogs improve to 1-5 on the season. They’ll be back in action this afternoon as they travel to Red Hill.
The Carmi-White County Softball team went 2-2 over the weekend.
The Lady Bulldogs first defeated Benton on Friday by a final score of 7-2. Addi Courson picked up the win on the mound, and Caroline Simmons launched her first home run of the season.
The Lady Dogs then took part in the Fairfield Lady Mule Spring Swing Tournament, and they fell to Trico 4-1 and Teutopolis 8-0. Carmi came back to win their final game, defeating Odin 17-0. Eva Attebury hit her first homer of the year in the win.
The Lady Bulldogs are now 3-5 on the season, they will travel to Woodlawn this afternoon in a game that was originally scheduled for Wednesday. Carmi will then host Mt. Vernon (IL) at Archie Brown Field tomorrow.
