Mar. 9-13 – SIC will be closed for Spring Break.
Mar. 11 – 4-8 p.m. – BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification classes will be held at SIC’s David L. Stanley White County Center. This one-day, 4-hour class is open to the public and cover CPR training. Participants will complete a 25-question exam and receive a certification card. Mar. 13 – 7:00 p.m. – The SIC Falcons Faction of Gamers Varsity Esports team will compete against Anna Maria College. The event will take place in the Esports Arena (room B130, across from the cafeteria in B Building). Spectators are welcome to attend in person or watch online at Twitch.tv/sic_falcons_fog.
Mar. 16 – 4 p.m. –The SIC Board of Trustees meeting will be held in the Rodney J. Brenner Board Room.

Mar. 18 – 9-11 a.m. – The Illinois Small Business Development Center will host an SBDC Day Open House in room G120 at SIC. Stakeholders, clients, and community partners are invited to attend. This is a come-and-go event with refreshments provided. For more information, email [email protected].

Tickets are $50 per person and must be paid in advance to reserve a spot. Space is limited. Mar. 24 – 6-8 p.m. – Illinois Extension will present “Weathering the Storm” in room G120 at Southeastern Illinois College. The workshop is designed for agricultural producers and community members and will focus on identifying stressors and managing stress in healthy ways. The program is offered in partnership with Illinois Extension, Southeastern Illinois College, the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Mar. 24 – 7 p.m. – The Night Before Nationals with the SIC Forensic Falcons at the George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center Theatre. A suggested donation of $5 is requested to help fund their trip to Nationals. For more information, email [email protected].
Mar. 25 – 1-4 p.m. – SIC’s Carmi Center will host a Bob Ross-inspired painting class under the guidance of instructor, Brad Mullings. You’ll learn new techniques and take home your work the same day. No experience required. This class is perfect for beginners aged 18 and up. Space is limited. Register in person at SIC’s Carmi Center. $15 for the class plus $40 for your supplies directly to the instructor.
Mar. 26 – 2:30 p.m. – An “Introduction to Canva” training will be held at SIC’s Carmi campus. This no-cost workshop will teach participants how to use Canva for business marketing and is hosted in partnership with the Illinois Small Business Development Center and the Carmi Chamber of Commerce. Mar. 26 – 4-6 p.m. – Join us in the Land of Make-Believe at the SIC Kids Fair in SIC’s Deaton Gym. The event will feature free food, games, and activities for children in preschool through third grade. Sponsored by SIC, WADI, Legence Bank, and Ferrell Hospital.
